I know EXACTLY where you've been and WHEN you went there!

If you have a Google account and if you use Google maps, then click this link

here

Don't forget to also click on some past dates on the calendar....

... bet you'll be a bit more careful about where you go now!!!

No history for me either but the fact that we "had a choice" does not mean the information is not availiable

Glad not to have a data plan! This tracks only where and when I've accessed wi-fi hotspots, which is mostly just at home.

I know EXACTLY where you've been and WHEN you went there!

If you navigate via the live GPS feature in any of the map apps then the provider has your permission to track location services by the wording in their EULA.

So in one way Google is more transparent vs others who don't offer the ability to review data. Ahem...cough, cough...Apple...

Mine showed up as well. And it's not just when Google Maps is open - it essentially tracks where your phone as been-not what you've mapped. Like it mapped my walk last night & I was not running Google Maps-I had killed it a few days ago.

Yep if you use the app and allow Location Services to run for that app, then you're tracked. And the EULA states they can keep the data.

this is interesting. here is a screenshot from my recent location history. this is actually from a local flight I took. when flying I use Garmin Pilot, I never use google maps to navigate. is it possible I was just logged into something google related? maybe but not likely.

here is some more information from google on location services, maybe after I read this it'll 'splain this better.

I use Google Now and I'm pretty comfortable with it.

The map that I got for today's travel has me going all the way to Cline's Corners, which I didn't do.

Even though this is the first time I've seen this particular map, I was not surprised that it showed me traveling to Cline's Corners, because when I'm in Moriarty, my WeatherBug often shows me in either Edgewood or Cline's Corners.

I'm not sure why that happens, except that WeatherBug latches on to the closest station that it can receive and Moriarty hasn't kept one in one place for very long.

Now, why Google makes this mistake, I don't know, because Google should not only be getting my GPS data, but also my Wi-Fi data.

With mistakes like that, I think these data are not likely to be of much use in a court of law or in any application that has serious consequences, unless you're married.

I have all my Google services active, TBH I am not bothered in the least that I can/am be/being tracked, the majority of my movement is tracked by the large amount of security cameras that are deployed in the UK anyway. I've done nothing wrong, so in some way the combination of these two would to some degree protect me from wrongful accusations.

No history for me but if it did it would probably just show me being here the whole time.

Note to self: Screw the iphone 6 and keep the flip phone.

Must admit that i have found areas where it is not 100% accurate also, I traveled direct from Northallerton to Thirsk rather than doing a detour to Osmotherley as portrayed here, I also didn't visit Yarm that day. It may be where there is no service (masts) the dots are joined up at the end as a prediction of the route going from known mast locations.

Just turn off tracking in your settings and don't give permission when asked. Also be careful with your fotos, phones record all location data in the information. So your innocent wrist shot may be telling the whole internet where you live.

If we don't pay attention to whats going on in Congress we might not be able to turn these features off tin the future.

I have a pretty complete history there, based on the movements of my Android phone.

I've heard about location tracking a while ago, and it can be turned off. Most people don't know it exists on their phones though. Buddy of mine is a lawyer and one of his clients was sunk by this location history data. So something to keep in mind if you're planning on committing any crimes.
