Tell him you love it, but need to realize an 800 dollar discount to actually make it happen. This way iff you have to or ever want to flip it, you won't feel screwed...more play room. As long as it is in great shape, I still wouldn't take less than a 700 discount as a floor. Meaning this is the walk away deal breaker.

For $500 I'd go with the new.

That's such a small difference that I would go new. But I've only bought new at this point.

If this is your first Rolex, I feel, it should be new.

New, I bought two used ones and two new ones. The new ones give me a better feeling.

I bought mine used, it was very lightly used. It did not have a single scratch on it, I don't think the original owner wore it at all, or perhaps very little. It was about a year old. I got it for a great price at the time.. probably 30-35% less than the cost of a new one.

If its only a $500 difference I would definitely go NEW! I have pieces I bought used but it was huge savings so I saw the value, I love the feeling of a new Rolex with my name on the warranty card, that alone is worth 500!
