Early tudor 7928 hands
Hello!
The early tudor submariner 7928's (chapter ring, gilt dial, radium, PCG) what models came with gilt hands? If the watch has a gilt dial, should the hands also be gilt to be correct for the originality of that watch Please help! Thanks |

My understanding is .....
The gilt/gilt dial (i.e. gilt chapter ring and gilt text) should have gilt hands
The gilt/silver dial (i.e. gilt chapter ring and silver text) should have rhodium hands. The PCG's represent a brief period only for 7928's (1961 / 62 ?) and I'm thinking all PCG's should have gilt/gilt dials and gilt hands. Someone will yell if I'm wrong on that |

Well i am looking at a PCG gilt 7928 with gilt writing and the hands appear to be a metal (not gilt) color.
Im assuming this is incorrect for the model since it dies infact have the gilt print |

Hands get changed all the time. If the case, dial, bezel etc. are great don't throw out a watch because it needs period hands, most can be sourced if you are patient. m
