are these fake rolexes on ebay?

im very new to the watch world online but ive always loved the looked of the rolexes, especially the submariner. anyways, is this a fake? did it go for more than it should have? just curious why someone would take a real rolex and put all these diamonds on it, doesnt it help depreciate it faster?

Hi and welcome to our humble abode. Although there are genuine finds on eBay it pays to be be very, very cautious in these matters. A white gold Rolex with diamonds? (Bezel and hands plus indices are white gold) For $2600? If it seems too good to be true. I see the following: only the case and movement are Rolex and the case is heavily polished to get rid of a dent. All the rest is aftermarket stuff. Not Rolex. The back it pitted because of prolonged wear. And old watch.

For my first watch I would cling to my money somewhat longer and buy from a reputable dealer.

Well I have a friend who bought a Datejust and had an aftermarket diamond bezel added to it. He loves the look, so it works for him.

He has the original bezel so if he needs to send it in for service or decides to sell it, the original goes back on - so it's worth just as much as any other similar Datejust. No additional depreciation at all.

That depends on your definition of fake. The dial, bezel, and bracelet are non-Rolex, as disclosed by the seller. On that basis it's not an original authentic Rolex watch. Rolex will not service it due to the the parts which are not of Rolex manufacture.

On the other hand, it looks pretty good and has an original workhorse Rolex movement. Someone looking for an accurate mechanical watch with a bit of bling would have done ok by it.
