Congrats on the Ice Bang by the way, a real looker and the combination of materials can't be beat, literally. Ceramic and tungsten, everyday wear without a scratch on her, am I right?

Have had the HBB Black Magic for a while now, and yes I'll admit a 7750 has no business peeking through an exhibition case back. That said, the watch it a beauty (in my eyes), seemingly indestructible, and wears big (I'm young) while managing to be the most comfortable in my collection.

Wear her in health.

You got it, very robust, a looker and very comfortable. It rocks. I think the black magic is pretty special too.

Thought I would post this Hodinkee interview with Jean-Claude Biver for those who haven't seen it yet. Good stuff and JCB shows an amazing Patek collection to boot.

I love that Benjamin Clymer gets no further than two minutes in before asking if Hublot looks just like the Royal Oak :) Cheers!

I don't think I could wear a watch that is named after fellatio...

That's just me though. If you like it, wear it. Just don't try to convince me I should wear one, like someone on IG tried to do one time.

He said, and I quote word for word, "No Hublot, no party!" I still don't know if he was making a pass at me or asking me for drugs?!!

LOL!

Yeah, they all seem like sexual innuendos as far as I can tell, from the name of the company downward.

I can't see myself telling someone who asks me what watch I am wearing, "Oh, Hublot, Big Bang." It sounds like a movie, or lines from a movie, my kids are not allowed to watch...

Hahah! Ben looks a little uncomfortable at around 3:49 that he asked the question. I wonder if he expected such a lively and detailed response?

It seems like Biver is just a little obsessed with portals. Portal here! Portal there! Portals everywhere!!!

opinions on Hublot watches over Rolexes

It's all fun and games until JCB gets on the subject of portals ;)

Love that guy...

True confession; I had no idea Hublot made a minute repeater. A 48mm minute repeater in matte ceramic no less.

This is a cool Hublot:

http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/hands-o...ublot-692-bang

It isn't worth anything close to $26,000 (jmo), but I do like it...

Nice find, I dig this piece. The hand stack especially.

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it, and I'll bet there will be no shortage if folks lining up for the 692 Bang. Call it ostensive luxury ;)

Absolutely. I don't think it's worth the price, but I'm sure many people feel differently.

fwiw, all watches have some appeal to some people but i'd try a concord c1 over a hublot. if you can live with a c1, you can live with the hublot 44mm versions but you may find paying thousands more isn't worth it for the hublot. the c1 is a really good buy for similar aesthetics and an in-house to boot. my 2¢

My opinion on Hublot is that they are certainly innovative in terms of their materials and watches but I just can't personally justify their price points. For example, I tried on the smaller Big Bang in the Houston boutique and thought it looked decent. And I would consider their smaller classic fusion but once I'm over about 5k, I'd opt for a host of other brands (like Rolex, AP, JLC or Vacheron) instead. For example at MSRP you can get a Big Bang at 13k and a Daytona at 12k. I'm pretty sure Rolex would be the choice of the majority.
