So, I'm new around here and have read many positive posts/feedback about davidsw...but haven't found any posts explaining to new members who this person/company is. I read the about section on the website but it doesn't explain much. Is it an independent watch store? And what exactly does that mean? If he is not an AD, how/where does he get the watches from?

Thanks.
Probably should be a new thread in a different forum, but I'll give you what I know (which admittedly isn't much). I'm new here as well and was looking for my first Rolex. I scoured the seller's forum for reviews of trusted sellers.

I ended up emailing David with my questions, some of which you ask above. He promptly emailed me back, and also gave me a phone call to discuss things further. A super guy.

I ended up doing business with him for a BNIB GMT. He put me at ease, as did the members of this forum. My advice is to email David and ask him your questions. He really is a very nice guy and will treat you well.

carreramay - Thanks for your response. Good to know. I'm assuming there are many like us (whenever someone is new and interested in purchasing after seeing all the favorable reviews) that end up asking him very similar questions. Is there a reason there's no thread that answers many of the typical questions someone may have about him and providing a little clarity on how it works? I have a whole bunch of questions.

It's just a conversation best had between customer and seller, that's all. Sellers have relationships to protect etc. Any of the trusted sellers can and will explain the process to ease your concerns.

Don't mean to hijack the thread , but had to also share the buying experience I recently had in dealing w/Davidsw. I am Local/Orlando area and have corresponded with David several times before finalizing this deal. He patiently answered all my questions/concerns, not to mention the great pricing he offers.
Without hesitation, I would recommend.

Thinking of buying a watch from him...do the watches come w/ all the paper work to make them authentic? Will I have problems if I take the watch to an AD or if I mail them in to Rolex for repair?

Thanks

The watches themselves are what makes them authentic. Paperwork is nice but not mandatory for a watch to be authentic. Just depends on what kind of provenance you want for yourself or resale. Most sellers have some of both as they take trades. And remember paperwork can be faked to so don't think that paperwork is what makes a watch "real".

The best answer you will get to these questions is from David himself.

It's been said already, but papers/cards do not make a watch authentic. David will have some with papers and with out and in my case you can buy brand new from him with your name on card.
