Accuracy of My New Explorer 2

Hi Guys/Gals,

Well I'm still thrilled with my new Expy but am a little concerned regarding it's accuracy.

As you know, I just got it on Friday, so I've only had 3 days of wearing it, but I've already noticed it's LOST time.

I remember checking it on Saturday evening I think, and it was at about -2. Well, I just checked again and it's now at -4! I know, still within COSC specs, but I'm still surprised. None of my Rolexes have ever run slow.....

Does this pretty much indicate I DON'T have the new 3186 movement?

Any cause for concern at this early stage, or do I just need to watch it settle?

FYI, I've always left my watches on their side overnight, crown up. I did the same with this one for 2 nights and then laid it dial up last night. Not sure any of these positions really affects the time....or at least I've not noticed it with any of my others.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Try crown DOWN, Karis....and see what happens.

My Platty actually GAINS time with the crown DOWN position....something unusual for Rolex watches.

Normally, it's - Crown UP - to gain.
Crown DOWN - to lose time.

Good luck - JJ

Karis, the watch will settle. If not can be easily regulated.

I would not worry too much. My GMT IIc is -5 sec./day, and soon will be on its way to get regulated.

Hey Karis, I read your post in the other thread and want to say that you are very welcome!

Like the others have said, I would just continue to monitor your Explorer II's accuracy over the next month or so. Give it some time, it should settle down nicely. If its still losing a few seconds each day after about a month, you can have the watch regulated. Also, try laying the watch flat with the dial facing straight up when you're not wearnig it, that should recover some of the lost seconds.

My Explorer was not the most accurate watch that I had.But it was running fast, not slow.Just relax and keep on wearing that beauty,it will settle in time.
