Daytona + Glidelock = ____?
WIN
Warning: Purists, look away! I dusted off my SubC after not wearing it for a while and was thinking to myself over dinner at how much I loved having the adjustability of the glidelock. It's just so convenient to able to make micro adjustments throughout the day for small variations in my wrist size. That got me thinking, why didn't Rolex stick a glidelock on the 116520 Daytona? The easy link is nice, but nowhere near as adjustable. So I said to myself, lets just try swap bracelets. After about a minute of tinkering, here's what I came up with. To my own surprise, it actually fit quite well! It's nice to know that I have some options should my Daytona become more of an every day watch. Now having said all that, this only lasted about 15 minutes before I ended up swapping back to the PCL bracelet with easy-link.In the end, the Daytona with the PCL's just looks right - elegant, classy, and sporty all in one. |

agree the glide lock is more versitile but honestly I dont constantly micro manage my bracelet size as the day goes on, but guess it would be nice to have that option, two great watches

Looks great! I love the glidelock! But for that, it needs polished centerlinks. But I'm guessing you'll be putting it back on the Sub |

Looks good, however with polished lugs I feel it is more suited to PLC, that or have the lugs brushed.
How good a fit is the bracelet? Any closer pics? I love the glidelock clasp and find my other watch hard to wear without it. |

Interesting!
The last time I tried to put Rubber B M106 (for Sub and some other models) onto the Daytona, the spring bars couldn't click and I did not pursue further Looks like I can give it another shot |

Fit is just about perfect. I actually did fit a Rubber B that I bought for my Sub onto the Daytona. Didn't take pictures as I didn't like the look, but it should fit rather easily. |

Yeah I was told by Nick at RB that the M106 would not fit the Daytona however the RB strap for the Daytona would fit the Sub but with a small amount of play!

If you like Chinese food with extra MSG like me, you need to be able to adjust that bracelet during the day!!

All Rolexes at around that price point should have this. The thing is some folks don't like the long clasp. I love the glide lock and that would be the ultimate Daytona, with PCLs of course. Love me some PCLs.
Wish my LVc came with pcls. |

Visually, the long clasp is nicer. Its easier to center it on your wrist compared to the short clasp. Functionally, well, what is there to say that hasn't already been said? The clasp is amazing and should be on all sport models.

Exactly. I would really like to add a GMT LN but the absence of the long clasp + glidelock always holds me back. Moreover I'd have to buy a Sub bracelet (guys here sell for ridiculous 2.5k) and then polish the center links and this is a radical mod to my standards (tbh I have zero mod tolerance).

Mike, did you simply take off your Submariner C bracelet and put it on your Daytona?
It looks sweet. I really like the long clasp. Will try this tonight for a different Daytona look. |

Not feeling it either, but then again I don't think of the SS Daytona as a tool watch.

Wow I've been thinking about this combo and was very curious about the look, since its a combo of polished head + brushed bracelet. Do care to share any wrist shot??

When wearing my Daytonas I rarely ever mess with the easylink. With my Sub, I find myself adjusting the watch a few times daily. I guess it is knowing that I can do it that makes me notice how loose/tight the watch is on my wrist and adjusting it accordingly.

Buddy this is a very good idea, but I actually like the PCL on the GMT. If I get one it'll be because I'm ok with everything original including the bracelet. Better for me to think this way.

I don't like the long clasp used in Sub. Still, glidelock is great and it should be in every Rolex.
