Yep that was the whole reason I got it. About a year ago I was coming back through Houston from Cancun, and it was about a 1.5 hour wait. There was a big sign--sign up for Global Entry. Did it the following week, as I said I will not stand in lines again. Best $$ ever spent.

Now prior to my Global Entry Card I was locked up in MIA waiting fur the FBI to interrogate me coming back from Brasil. WHY !!

I have it and LOVE IT! Amex Platinum picked up the fees, so it was a no brainer.

I travel, international and domestic, about 100,000 miles a year, so it's worth it for me.

GE worked out great last week. I went to London and breezed through The TSA pre check line, then coming back into Dulles it saved me about an hour in customs. Brilliant.

TSA pre-check is awesome...who would have thought not having to take your shoes off is such as great thing? Also of course, much shorter wait at the pre-check security lanes.
I've traveled internationally only once since I've had it...coming back from AMS, I literally didn't have to wait a single min. Just walked up to the kiosks, and got my clearance pass. Then went to an open agent (bypassing the line that was 100+ long) and went right on thru.

I'm not sure that I like the idea of the so-called safety precautions enforced by those TSA thugs creating a new class of citizens who can buy their way out of the inconveniences that those who still fly commercially have to put up with if they don't have what it takes to buy these privileges or who don't fly often enough to make it worth their while.

Was already Pre-Check because of Delta's FF program. Did Global Entry about a year ago, and it has made a huge difference in international travel. Coming back from Brisbane a couple months ago, connecting at LAX, the line was easily a thousand people. Probably 45min - 1 hour. I walked up to the kiosk, and was through in 5 minutes tops.

Couple weeks ago coming home from Ottawa was the same way. Unattended kiosk, done in < 5 minutes (including the time it took to walk a traveling companion through the process).

Totally worth it, and if you have an AMEX platinum, free too!

Agree 100%, but this is the "new normal." We jump through hoops, pay money, pray to get "PreCheck" on our boarding pass, only to win/earn what everyone already had for the history of air travel before "security theater' took over.

I don't have to like it, but until the world revolves around me, there's little to be done to change it. As long as the majority of our country is willing to give up any and every right since they "have nothing to hide" and want to be "safe", the rest of us will be drug along with the wave.

I value my time. It took $50 and an hour of my time for the Nexus interview.

Nexus gets you Global Entry automatically.

The government already has my fingerprints for my CPL anyway.

As a frequent flyer I was already getting Pre Check 80% of the time. Breezing through Customs and security via GE/Nexus is awesome.

Even though I think the TSA is security theater it was a good investment in my opinion.

I was approved for Global Entry the day of the interview and I just got my Global Entry Card in the mail today.

But unless I've missed something, Nexus requires two interviews. One in the USA, and one in Canada. How did you do both in an hour?

I've considered doing this on one of my many trips to Ottawa/Toronto/Vancouver, but haven't yet. Just GE for now.

Have had both for a few yrs now and it has worked out great, especially since Houston is my home airport. Not needing to wait in Immigration after a 10+ hr flight is very worth it. Pre check is an added benefit of GE and so far have not been bumped out of line, yet!!

You have to do it at a Canadian airport that pre-clears US customs for US bound passengers (eg, Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, etc).

In the Seattle office the Canadian agent is literally in the next room. 10 mins or less with the Canadian official and right next door to the US agents.

1 appointment = two interviews. It's very convenient.

We've had Global Entry since it became available for Canadians. We have Canadian Nexus and when it's enhanced by US authorities you can use Global Entry. I think that these are great. We travel into the US regularly and it does speed things up.
