An AD has to consider how much it will cost him to replace the watch in his inventory. A retail price from eight or ten years ago is probably much less than the current wholesale price.

The Rolex AD at the Wynn in Las Vegas has a clearance case now.

And from whatever limited information that I've gathered from here, a resale becomes much tougher if the paperwork isn't fully there. Especially, if for some reason, you have to resell it within the 2 year period when there is supposed to be a warranty on the watch!

If it is being sold as NOS, then it should come with the Rolex warranty and all the paperwork. Plus the pricing (with the discount) should be as is when it was first released to be a bargain .

Must be how the AD and possibly Rolex define "clearance" I'm fairly sure that Rolex does not want discounting going on. They have pulled AD status over that I know.

Tourneau in Pentagon City has used watches but they are no bargain.

NoVa girl: You are really better off buying from one of the trusted sellers here. Unless you want a new Rolex and are willing to pay a premium for the AD experience.

For used, shop at the Ads to figure out what you want, check prices at Chrono24, but buy preowned from TRF sellers and try to get the box, papers, and service record. Also, confirm what the warrantee, if any, will be.
