2005 Unworn 16610 LV

Just noticed on a Grey Market UK sellers website they have an unworn 16610 LV with the protective seals still in place. Its a 2005 watch so 9 years old! Is this a rare find?

Getting more and more but not super rare, no. Finding a Y or an F series BNIB is pretty rare though.

Likely a late F... can you post a pic of the dial? If it has MK1 dial and flat four, would be a nice pickup depending on price. But since it is probably a late F being 2005, it would be. Only way to know is a picture.

Sounds like a good find to me. What are they asking for it?

I saw this yesterday and thought it was a lot of money. Not long ago these seemed to be going for around £4,500 to £5,000. Lately I've seen them at around £5,000 to £5,500.

They'll normally do a deal from what I've read elsewhere.

Even though that price is high, they are not going to get cheaper in the next few years.
Everybody keeps talking about a hype causing the prices of certain watches to go up. Isn't a hype something that last only shortly? This has been going on for over a year now and no signs of coming down anytime soon...

depends on what you are buying it for.

If this is true, then this one has been set aside specifically to fetch top dollar and the original buyer is looking to double his initial output.

If you don't intend to ever wear it, it may be a decent deal. If you intend to wear and enjoy it then I would pass and find one in good condition that you are not going to affect it's "unworn" condition..

(although they imply that the plastic is still on, I don't really see it. I do see the old style hologram on the back, but those can be purchased)

A brand new Y series unworn with complete stickers was sold for $9500 right here on these very forums a few weeks ago... That particular watch is a LATE F series - it has a MK1 dial but it doesn't have the flat 4 bezel... This is not a highly desirable LV in terms of collectability... If you want a collectable LV then you want a Y series or an EARLY F series with MK1 dial AND a flat 4 bezel.

If you are just after a NIB 16610LV and don't care about MK1 dials and flat 4 b bezels then this watch is not for you as it is WAY over priced. If you are after the most collectable 16610LV then this is also not it.

In conclusion, this particular watch does not warrant the high price that is being asked for it. You can find new cheaper or a better pedigree cheaper as well.
