All a bit confusing!

OK, so recently we've all been looking at the 5 day time trial. I got a problem - which one of the reference clocks is correct?!

I have used the
1) The Greenwich site
2) Accurist123
3) The reference site suggested in the time trial
4) The speaking clock on the phone
5) A separate application on my PC that logs onto an (unspecified) atomic clock
6) And my "radio linked to Rugby atomic clock" alarm clock

In other words 6 different sources and they all vary by at least +/-1 second.

One of these has to correct! But which? It's obviously not that important -I do not need to do ANYTHING to the absolute second, but it would be nice to know which is correct.
IMHO I suspect my alarm clock is the most accurate as it takes the source directly via a radio signal so no internet lag due to switching thru servers and so on... or have I got to buy myself a caesium atomic clock and have that pulsing away in my apartment and have it radio linked to 6 other similar clocks thoughout the world?!

Hard to say for sure, but I know a few of those sites have a disclaimer that says...."to be accurate to within +/-1 second"

When checking any watch for accuracy you must check with the same original time check source start to finish.
Whether its computer phone or even your own quartz watch.

I see you live in the UK. What I use is, time.gov Obviously the "hour" will be off but the minute and seconds would be the same for you. I hope I explained that right...?? The site is ran by the U.S. navy and is accurate to 0.2 of a second.

Of the ones you mentioned, telephony based time services should be considered more accurate than internet based, due to there being less lag. Another good source is BBC radio but make sure you use analogue not digital, as digital can be up to two seconds behind.
