Daytona zenith movement
Hi this might be a stupid question but i would like to know what is so special about the Zenith movement in certain Daytona models from around 10-15 years ago. Why is it so much better than the current movemement and people are willing to pay a bit extra for that?
Thanks

I think that it doesn't have to do with the movement it has to do with the fact that the zenith daytona is a vintage watch cause since rolex is not using the zenith movement anymore. The in-house daytona movement the 4130 is much better than the zenith movement the 4030 in many ways
The 4130 is a really reliable movement easier to service more accurate because of the parachrom harispring and it initiates a new generation of chronograph movements.

I can't say that it is a better movement. Some say so but others disagree.
Rolex took the Zenith movement, "detuned" but also changed quite a few parts. The pre-owned premium commanded is more due to its relative rarity compared to the current model, IMO. Certain dial / bezel variants are highly desirable and expensive, as are the A and (especially) P serial versions with SEL.
