Rubber strap for Submariner

As a neophyte on such matters, some input here would be truly helpful. I'm looking for a rubber strap to replace the bracelet on a 50th Anniversary Submariner I recently purchased. Any suggestions regarding a particular one that stands out in terms of durablity and/or overall aesthetic? I'd just as soon not pay in excess of $150-$200.

Thanks in advance.

Well any 20mm rubber strap will do as for quality Hirsch are very good and can be bought from around £14 to £25.

A classic Tropic strap. You could buy a Rolex Sub from Rolex on a Tropic in the 60's and 70's as a cheaper option to the oyster bracelet; Jim

I agree... I also agree with dkpw, don't let JJ know or you'll be labeled as a "tosser."

I think this style is the most comfortable of the rubber straps

I'd just like to find a very high quality one if I put a rubber strap on a Sub.

Caution: If one of these comes loose your sub is gone, with the oyster bracelet it's still on your wrist.

Something like this maybe:

Jim that's interesting the way the tropic strap end is curved to follow the contour of the case
So is tropic just another name for rubber?

I like the tropic with curved ends as well; many rubber straps I see only have a sraight end piece...

Who has a good source for the Tropic and kinds like it...?

How about the Kevlar straps... ? Anybody use those ?

Tropic is the brand name they are Swiss made. The real ones are hard to find. They do pop up from time to time but the 20mm seems really rare. The 19mm will work. Here is a link to a seller on another forum that has them sometimes; Jim http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/...ames;read=4372

Here's another one:

I wish these were more commercially available! Someone could make some money!

David, I found that auction too. Made an offer of $25 and did the deal. There is another seller on e-bay selling very similar 20mm straps for $65 each
I'll post a pic or 2 when I get the strap.
