Vintage Oris help

Hi can anybody give me some info on this Oris that I just bought? Only paid $43 incl shipping.

I couldn't find anything on that Oris but perhaps if you open the caseback we'd be able to get more information on it. It probably has an AS or an Unitas movement in it.

43$ is a very good deal as far as I'm concerned, I'd get it serviced and enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks, I found the exact same watch on Ebay, its internals says "15 jewels 392 KIF" however mine was advertised as a 17 Jewels but they look identical, probably an error on the sellers part, will know for sure when I receive it.

It's worth taking a look at it, perhaps the other seller's watch has bushings for the center wheel instead of rubies (hence the 15 jewels instead of 17), it's something you will find every now and then in vintage watch movements. As for the word KIF, it's the name of the shock protection springs on the cock bridge and on the counter pivot on the plate, in most modern watches you'll find Incabloc springs but KIF is also used at times.

Looking foward to seeing pictures.

Finally got around to get the watch serviced, it has a 7 jewel 712 cal movement.
