What famous people don't wear ?
I have been planning to buy my first Rolex and i.e Submariner.
I've been to each and every review, forums, pictures etc etc What I noticed is famous people or celebrities or politicians do wear Submariner but no two tone Submariner with the black dial. Why is that ? |

Who cares what "famous" people wear. Buy what you like then get famous so others emulate your style.

The ones with good taste wear stainless steel, the others have enough money to go all gold.

Their agents advise them not to wear certain models of Rolex, specifically so that you can comment on it in this forum.

Lol... Just buy what you like and stop worrying about what others wear or don't wear. I buy whatever I think would look good on MY wrist and that makes me happy. I don't care if I'm the only one in the world that wears that kind of watch... I like it and that's what matters

I have noticed that no celebs wear a Rolex on their right wrists. Make sure you go for the left handed version so you look like a celebrity

Brad Pitt is in Fight Club. Fight Club is awesome. 1st rule of Fight Club is "You do not talk about Fight Club". The 2nd rule of Fight Club is "You DO NOT talk about Fight Club". What we can talk about is Brad's watch. Brad wears a yellow gold Sub. Yellow gold Subs are awesome.

My celebrities fall into the trap of what others think about them or how they are perceived. Others are ego driven, and tend to flaunt their wealth. I would like to think that members of our group are above such things, and buy with their hearts and hard earned money.
Too often, I see wannabes with Hermes belts, ten carat diamond earrings, Louis Vuitton hats and heavy gold chains; all purchased on the streets or in stores that cater to their "dreams". Somehow, they believe they will be perceived or treated differently because of what they have, not the content of their character. What a world, we live in... |

I wouldn't be too concerned about famous people & what they wear. Although I'm sure your question is just an voiced observation. :-) A lot of them have endorsement deals & the others can afford to buy to keep up with the Jone's. ;-)

Never buy a watch because a certain celebrity or sports star has one. Buy what you love because it speaks to you.

It may have something to do with a non-WIS's perception of bi-metal watches being a cost-based compromise to the exorbitant cost of all gold. To us WIS, this is pure rubbish, and you should wear what you like.
