New idea for men

Evening all,

I was on the internet and came across https://gentlemansbox.com which is a box of goodies that gets sent out every month of new products and styles. My wife gets a BirchBox which is similar but for woman and only $10 a month compared to this $25 a month.

Seems like a pretty neat idea, I signed up to try it out! I will post pics of my first box.

Ok, let me get this straight...this is a service, that delivers a box to a man every month? .Well....what guy wouldnt want to get into a box every month. .Great concept.

Looking forward to seeing what this is all about. Make sure you do post your contents. Will be interesting to see what $25 gets you. They do claim to surpass that amount.

So you pay $300 a year for a subscription to GQ and get a box full of inexpensive crap that you don't need every month?
Sounds about as good a deal as my jury duty.

It'll be interesting to see how this goes and I look forward to seeing what's in the box, particularly from month to month.

Personally, in my late 30's, I feel I've largely already found the brands for me and I tend to stay loyal to what I like. So, while I'd be happy to try something new once, the idea of paying for new and unknown things each month doesn't really appeal.

I'm sure Don Draper's behind this marketing gimmick......getting soaps, socks and bow ties in a box once a month hardly makes anyone a gentleman.....I sure some folks will fall...I mean go for it.

Two ladies I work with use a monthly box service, and they get great outfits that they love, and which really fit their style. My wife tried it, and did not prefer it. I would not like it, because I'd keep things that were just OK. Things I'd try on in a store, consider, but reject, would suddenly start piling up. Tie goes to inertia I guess.

I used to get BirchBox (for men). Honestly, it's really cool. Found all kinds of things I now use that were superior to what I was using. And as far as value, it's well worth it (men's box is $20). But like one month I got a pair of Tommy John underwear - retail $34 + probably another $20 worth of stuff. Or a couple of pairs of socks with a retail of $30 + samples.

I took a year off from it because I had soooo much stuff. I figure I'll do it every other year. Year on, year off. I still have probably half a dozen samples that I use from more than a year ago.

So like right now, I use the conditioner & shampoo that I got as a sample (Davines), Face Scrub, Mouton Brown body wash, Baxter after shave, LaFace moisturizer and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. It's not the kind of stuff I'd go out & spend that much money on without sampling it, so BirchBox is great in that aspect.

My girlfriend loves getting hers, too (seriously guys - Christmas gift!). But it costs me a crap load of money because she finds so much she likes & wants full size of.

Got my first box! I am very pleased with the contents, everything in the box is good quality and I believe surpasses the $25 that was spent.

Companies that might not reach you otherwise get to put their brands directly in front of you while you find yourself looking forward to a little surprise every month.

It's a great concept.

I believe this may be a new trend in moneymaking ideas. My son subscribes to a similar service called "Loot Crate" that has a box delivered monthly with comic books, tee shirts, and nick knack items related to the video game industry. And it only costs me $20 bucks a month!

Mind giving us a rundown o whats in it, doesn't look too bad for $25 considering a GQ alone is $10 AUD.
