6 watch winder H E L P!

Hi all,

I need some help...I need a new watch winder that holds 6 watches. I love the look of the attached Rapport watch winder, but I don't like the lack of reviews or the cost. I like a modern, clean look.

I've looked at the Wolf Viceroy....and some by Orbita. Am I missing any other specific models?

Why do you have to 6 watches on a machine winder for if they are not being worn just let them stop. Then quite a simple task to wind watch by the winding crown that's what its for.Just cannot see the point in machine winding 6 watches if they are not needed to tell the time on the finest winder and its free your wrist.

Thanks for the advice on the Wolf.

I was asking for opinions on a winder - but if you really want to know...For several reasons - I sometimes will change a couple of times a day and I like the display case for the ones I'm not wearing.

Not a winder hater just cannot see the point unless you have a watch with many complications which 95% of members will not have. Now with watches that have many complications then yes they could prove to be a convenience.

Thanks guys. Seriously not even sure why the comments - OP just asked for a watch winder suggestion - not if anyone was capable of living without one. Really funny though.

Peter and I completely disagree on this issue and have for many years now.

I have two Brookstone quad winders that have been working flawlessly for at least 3-4 years now. They are essentially silent and each winder is eminently adjustable, both in terms of wpd and for CW, CCW, and alternating CW and CCW winding. Brookstone makes single, double, and quad winders; they come in modern wood cases. A quad winder runs about US$200.

You can see the quad winder at http://www.brookstone.com/watch-wind...|618009p&catId=

I am with the OP in that I sometimes change my watch when I get home from work. All of my watches are chronographs with dates. I know that winders aren't absolutely necessary but I do like being able to put on a watch and go. And My Wolf Meridian 2.7 Triples display my watches nicely. So two triples may be a good and more economical option compared to a 6 watch winder, but I'll throw in a vote for Wolf.

And as for the necessity of winders, can't the argument also be made that the watches we wear are exponentially more expensive "non-necessary" items? Meaning if you pay $5000 or $10,000 for a watch, can you really call spending $600 on a triple winder "unnecessary?"
