I have both. I have one of the newer In-house movements with GMT functions and Chrono. I always wanted a Daytona but I really like the date .. The GMT was like icing on the cake.

I like my Sub's and GMT.

The Breitling gets noticed more than the Rolex mainly because the case is so big. I like both. If I was just going to have one it would be a Rolex. Prob a GMT ..

Breitling quality is excellent.

I've got one and absolutely love it.

I get turned off by some of the bling, but for the most part, I love them.

I don't like Breitling. To me, they're large & obnoxious watches that don't suit my taste.

I feel a similar way about Panerai too.

Since you are asking this on a Rolex lovers forum I'm sure opinions will be skewed to Rolex. In both lines there are watches that I like and dislike. To me quality is equal.
Breitling appeals to allot of people in Aviation, while Rolex I think is more generic in its appeal.
As for resale, I don't buy watches to resell them later. I buy them because I like a particular watch and intend to keep them till I die.

I have a Daytona and a Chronomat B01. Love both but I am thinking of trading my B01 for a Hulk. I've been wanting the Hulk for a while now.

I have an older Breitling Aerospace Ti, before they upsized. It is an accurate high quality timepiece. I keep it along with my Rolexes.

To early to tell for me. I just picked up my first Rolex a SubC.

Currently own two Breitlings. My beloved Cockpit Chronomat, which I get a TON of compliments on, and my everydayer which is my Avenger II GMT.

I love my Breitlings and they take a beating. And as one other mentioned above, Breitlings bracelets are hard to beat. they look very attractive and hold up VERY well IMHO.

BUUUUUUUT......I can't wait to start wearing my SubC on a regular basis. So the jury is still out.

FWIW......BUSA has incredible service. Haven't dealt with Rolex Service yet, but Breitling service is hard to beat and priced very reasonable for what they perform.

I have owned and sold a "red" dial chrono and the big Bentley. I miss the red dial, but the Bentley was to big.

I own both a chronomat evolution and rolex DSSD.two completely different brands in my opinion. Breitling is the "cool" brand and are gaining more and more attention, and although excellent quality, they simply do not hold value well for any of there watches. Rolex on the other hand, is a step up. For the most part, all the watches hold value and some better than others, but all better than breitling.

Both are great watches at the end of the day, it all comes down to what appeals to you, budget, and how you wear your watch.

On a side note, you can dress the chronomat up and down with straps, rubbers and bracelets so it can be versatile. Whereas the rolex only has a non eom rubber b strap for the most part, made specifically for th rolex.

I noticed this today at the AD. Very heavy. The only thing is the clasps seemed to be very poor quality IMHO. The finishing was rough as was the action opening and closing. Thats what stopped me from purchasing.

The dial and cases looked better than the Omegas as far as quality goes.

They look like cool watches, but are too big for my wrist. The Explorer II at 42mm is really pushing it.

I have both a 36mm Rolex DateJust as well as a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage 46mm in blue that I love. It does make it difficult to transition though between a 46mm and 36mm on a regular basis. Sometimes when I'm wearing my DateJust it feels like I have nothing on. Definitely going for an Omega or IWC next though.

I sold my only Breitling...for Bentley chronograph white on bracelet. If I get another, it would be a Navitimer panda maybe on strap.

I own a navitimer world and had previously a super avenger. Not a single bad thing to say about the brand or the quality of the product. I came to desire a smaller and lighter watch, which led me to rolex.

No Breitlings here. But I always thought the Navitimer was a nice watch. But the current Navitimers are too big for my taste.

I have a Breit Superocean Abyss 42. My first 'pricey' watch
+ The craftsmanship, quality, value, and packaging are first class.
+ Hefty yet comfy on the wrist.
+ Super easy to see dial
+ Reasonable $
+ I really like the polished bracelet and the weight. Polish/shiny is good in summer and spring IMHO
- Accuracy. For a new watch this caliber, runs fast +8 sec/day though COSC acceptable. Still not acceptable
- ETA movement
- Size

Not much experience with the B01 or other manufacture movements but the reviews are good. Wish to own a Chronomat or Navitimer 01 someday.

Rolex GMT Pepsi, SubC LV, OP Steel

+ Size 36-40mm are just fine by me.
+ Fit and feel just right.
+ Elegant, sporty, sturdy, classy etc..
+ In house movement. Very accurate (+2 sec/day) even the 96 GMT Pepsi
+ It's a Rolex. Enough said.
- Addictive

Why my focus is mainly on Rollie lately. Breit SO42 is getting less and less wrist time but I still love it on weekends and my beater in summertime.

I went through a Breitling phase a few years ago, and now I'm done with them and collecting Rolexes. Breitlings depreciate quite rapidly, so really the only way to buy one is to buy used. I had some trouble with one of them - fixed under warranty - but that was the older movement.

I will say though that they are very pretty watches and nicely made. They also tend to run more flashy than a typical Rolex - polished SS bracelets instead of brushed, for instance. That may not be a good thing if you travel a lot and want to be a bit more discrete. Maybe an Omega would be a better choice?

I have had Breitling. There was nothing wrong with it but I never got similar feeling as having worn a Rolex. They are great and nice watches, so if you like them you cannot go wrong with a Breitling.
