Explorer 5500
Please help guys. I am looking at an Explorer 5500. This has box and receipts from 1964 confirming it is an Explorer. How do you value it as most seem to be redialled Airkings. Not a great shot I know!

Not sure that I understand your question.. If you have paperwork that demonstrate it is an Explorer there isn't an issue.. Values are all over the Internet..
This one appears to be earlier than '64 though..

Odd question you're right! The one thing that seems to be missing is the t25 mark on dial. I guess i just wanted more expert eyes as these models are a minefield.

Thanks guys. Original sales receipt and a few other papers and boxes. I'm guessing the watch might have sat around for a bit prior to being sold.Bracelet doesn't appear original (to that model). IŽll be careful!

If you buy the watch .....
If you buy it, could we see a pic of the papers - with the serial number blanked out ?
Would be interesting to see papers written up as an Explorer 5500 - most surviving papers simply declare the watches to be a 5500 . Bona-fide papers written up as Explorer 5500 would add a lot of credibility to the watch - eliminating the doubt that hangs over many 5500 Explorers |

Sold before I actually got to hold it! Wasn't prepared to buy without going to look.
