NOS Explorer 14270 Collectors Set - Great Patina! all orig, B&P
Here is my Black-Friday find, up for grabs. I purchased this from the original owner who received it as a wedding gift and never wore it! It has been in a box for the last 19 years. T-Serial dates it to 1996. Watch is in near perfect, NOS collectors condition. The only evidence of any sort of marks - swirls or otherwise - is on the back sides of the lugs or side of the clasp from sizing...these are absolutely minimal; the watch appears as new.
The watch comes with the original inner and outer boxes, model hang-tag, Rolex seal hang-tag, embossed warranty paper, polishing cloth, Explorer booklet, maintenance booklet, Oyster Booklet, and warranty sleeve. The bracelet exhibits NO stretch whatsoever, and comes with a total of 12 links (incl. the half-links). All parts are original to the watch. The original tritium dial has aged to a slight, egg-shell patina which I attempted to illustrate next to a sheet of white paper in one of the images. When compared to my SL 114270, the lume is noticeably creamier. The patina of the hands matches the numerals, both are even and consistent. The original model sticker is still present on the casebook, and shows no wear. The watch is running and keeping accurate time, as judged by eye, not by machine; service history unknown. I have been selling watches, and other items, on eBay for a decade, with 100% positive feedback under the name "rcambrid" and have completed a few transactions here on TRF. If you have any questions or would like additional photos, please let me know! Price: $5,000 Terms: Includes shipping, however, buyer is responsible for PayPal fees; price is net to me. Wire is acceptable, as is cash in person, at a public location in Indianapolis. I will honor a 3-day inspection period during which I will accept a return if the watch is not as described, provided you notify me within the 3-day period, the watch is in the identical condition in which it was shipped, and you ship it back to me in the same manner (overnight with full insurance). Refund will be issued in the manner of receipt, minus shipping and insurance costs. |

Bump - may do a re-post, as this listing doesn't show up when you search for "explorer" - not sure why?
Admin Edit: Only one thread per Item allowed, only one bump per 48 hours allowed, and yes it is searchable. No further warnings.... Last edited by sleddog; 4 December 2014 at 12:14 PM.. Reason: 48 hour bumps only, one thread per item! |
