Basel 2015

Ok so anyone from TRF going to bezel 2015?.... Are there only watch dealers and shop owners who go there or just some watch enthusiasts as well?... Do you get to try on watches as well?

The safest place for your watch is on your wrist.

She's a smart woman.

Not going, but would love to see this there. Doesn't matter if it's in SS, PT, or hell it might even look great in RG.

Lots of enthusiasts, but mostly industry people.

There are some interactive displays. No watches to try
On though.

Especially if you met up with Jocke - no telling what you'd get into!

...or onto your wrist for the plane ride home...

I've never gone before. But do they sell watches there or is it just a preview of upcoming new models? I know for Rolex what they show as new releases typically can't be purchased for months afterwards. But can you buy watches from the Rolex booth? Or any other booth? Is it like a giant market to try and buy? I thought it was more of a place for dealers to look and place orders.

Anyone been there and can verify?

In my experience you can just look at the display's.
No trying on unless you are an important person (or lucky, like I was last year).

It is a trade show to exhibit the new models and variants of existing ones. But many private individuals transact trades and sales amongst themselves.

Sounds like a fun and potentially expensive place.

In the Independent Brand booths you can speak directly to the watchmakers, sometimes even to the owners of the brand and usually they are more than happy to let you try their watches.
