YMII v Daytona

I don't have that many "flashy" watches in my collection. Most of my gold is white gold and I kind of like that. I kind of love wearing an expensive piece that no one other than a watch collector/lover would notice. However, I find the Daytona in rose gold (ever rose) to be a gorgeous watch. I like it most with the bracelet as I'm an active guy and leather just won't last for me.

That being said, I wear my YMII occasionally. I probably wear my hulk 50 weeks out of the year and switch occasionally to my other daytonas/gmts/subs. So I'm not attached.

Was wondering if trading the YMII for the Daytona is an equal trade, if I should expect some cash back, if I'm crazy for thinking this, what your opinion is, etc. I know the retail prices for both are different, but some watches hold their value better. So I guess just curious what most people on this forum would do.

Nope,I have SS YMII and I love it's size bigger than Daytona and very comfortable too. YM II and Daytona both have theircown merits too
YM II is not as popular as Sub honestly I would like to see more positive feedback on that watch
I wanted to have a Daytona and ended up ordering one

I would go for the Daytona, but if you are talking RG Daytona then most definitely even if you have to sell something else.

I would definitely go RG Daytona.

I would personally wait until after Basel this year though...just in case they release the RG Daytona on full bracelet.

Two of the best. But if don't wear it, flip it. :)

Tough call, two very different pieces. If you like the subtlety of white gold, RG will be quite a drastic change. The size difference is pretty significant too.

Dollar wise, they're about the same, give or take. Good luck deciding!

I believe there is already a RG Daytona on full bracelet. Or are you referring to a ceramic bezel model?

To the OP, I would definitely go RG Daytona. Probably the best looking RG model Rolex makes IMO. Even if you have to shell out a few bucks.

Thanks for the catch...I meant full RG on bracelet with ceramic bezel.

SS YMII is very nice. I wouldn't go for the RG Daytona in any combination. YG Black dial sub would be a good option

Hmm, I think the retail price for the YM would be a little higher...but when you start talking trade, especially if you're looking to trade pre-owned vs. BNIB, things might start evening out...also I would think there is more demand for the Daytona. Something to think about.

If its a dealer here or an AD giving you an equal trade for a BNIB Rose Gold Daytona, I would run to make that deal!!!

The YM2 is a beautiful watch, don't get me wrong but the Daytona in RG is one of the only PM watches I would love to have at the moment.

OMG never noticed the difference between the two! The SS YM2 wears really nice believe it or not and is stunning in the flesh (this is from a small wristed guy!)
