4107 Vintage 1940 s not Sure if its Manipulated

Hi Ladies & Gents of Rolex,

I just bought from an Online Auction 4107 hand wind Vintage Rolex.
the Word Rolex on the face of the watch does not look how it is supposed to look Like , Why ? plus on the back side of the watch there is 098 engraved, is it the nr of 1000 pcs made ?

The "Rolex" on the dial looks alright to me. If this was a redial it would be an old one, and usually they did not get the "x" right. But, it has the thick down swing and thin upswing.
The numbers look a little funny to me, but that maybe just the distortion from the crystal.
Would need a clearer photo of the dial, to have a better opinion.

The 098 is probably just a run number. Watch companies usually produce watches in runs,
serial number 100,000 to 100,100 could be a ref 4107 serial number 100,100 to 100,200 could be a ref 5656. Then they may come back and produce another run of ref 4107 say serial numbers 105,500 to 105,600. My guess is that the 098 means that this was the 98th case made for this particular run.
