Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours Chronograph

Hello

Can anyone tell me anything about this watch? Can't find one locally but think it looks interesting.

Are Montblancs higher end pieces any good in general? Good quality movements, reliable, good build quality, etc..? Any info would be appreciated.

Montblanc

Hi guys

Anyone seen a Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours Chronograph in the flesh? Anyone got a modern, high end Montblanc they can give me an opinion on?

I think they've come leaps and bounds and I'm thinking it may make it's way into my rotation...

It would help to post this in the Non-Rolex forum. I'm sure it will get moved anyways, but you should get more help there.

I've seen one poster with it on here; I can't remember who, but it's here.

I read a little about this watch, and it appeared to be very well thought of. I saw it in the display case at a dealer, and it looks nice. I'm not a huge fan of how some of the markers on the dial are hidden.

I would try to find it used though.

Thanks JJ, didn't see that. What's is it with this place these days?

I have seen these watches and have come close to purchasing one. I think they are very nice but I was concerned i would get tired of the style. Nonetheless there are many different versions and some of the earlier models-- very hard to read the numbers so keep this in mind if you purchase a used one. One of the original models was a manual wind and had a PR indicator. I really liked this one. This one is limited model and more expensive and again the dials not as easy to read as some of the more recent models.

I've tried a few on and I couldn't get over the case design because it didn't fit my smaller wrist without a large gap between the case and the band. I like the dials but they are a little busy and I wonder about the longevity of the look.

That being said, I've seen some preowned through dealers on eBay at significant discounts. If you're interested but unsure that would probably be the way to go.

I tried this watch on and will include a photo. It
Seemed a little to busy for me. I personally didn't like the design.

After I posted it on the "non rolex" area, I saw how many people were actually viewing that area and it was hardly any... So I thought I'd post it on the General area. People talk about non-rolex issues there all the time, someone was asking about adding IWC to their collection, or their Omega - no one moaned then...

People talk about their Pateks all the time - is it a case of "if it's expensive/sought after, talk about what you like" ?
