Hi,

Im about to purchase a 20000 euro AP from Exclusive-chrono.com. They are trusted seller in chrono24 and their shop is located in Kerkrade Netherland.

Not a good experience, here is my story:

I find a watch i like on his website www.exclusive-chrono.com
Its a 26320 chronograph rose gold royal oak on rubber strap. I talked to Sven, the owner an asked is there any ding, scratch i should be aware? Can i have some more detail photo of the watch?

His answer was short:" the photo in my website is high resolution"

There are only 3 photos on his website, did not represent the watch at all angles, and on his website he claimed the watch is like new.

I google translated some threads on rolexforum.nl about his website and there are few people has dealed with him with no problem. Thus i decide to go on step further to negotiate the price base on the assumption that the watch is in his describled condition: "like new" .

I told him i will drive to his shop (650km from berlin to kerkrade) to pick up the watch since i will come back to VietNam from Berlin in 3 days and if i wire the money, i can not receive the watch on time.

I finally arrive after 7 hours drive. Sven seems to be a yound nice guy. We meet in his pub in a fairly dark environment. First impression is not good. The watch was on his wrist which does bother me a bit. Also, the watch did not look as new as in the picture and i feel that it was not in a good hand.

There are 1 ding in the bezel in 6.30 point, right on the sharp edge. A scratch on 10 position on bezel that pretty visible, an a light scratch on 5 position.

Seeing the watch condition make me very upset as it does not meet my expectations. I feel that i will have to go home empty handed as im not excited about the watch like i supposed to be.

I told Sven thats there are marks and ding. He said:" its a used watch"

I feel really sad, thinking about another 7 driving hours without nothing. Thus i made an offer for 1000 less. He declined. We shaked hand and i leave.

In conclusion: i feel Sven is not serious about watches. He is not honestly present the condition of the watch. He made me drive a very long way without telling the true condition of the watch, which upset me very much. Its a very bad experience after all, and i will never dealing with this guy anymore.

Thank you for reading my post and if any of you come from Netherland, please so post it to rolexforum.nl

Best regards.

Cuong.

The refusal of more than three photos would have stopped me driving even 10km, to be honest.

Actually it is quite a story. I bought my first watch (YG Rolex DD) about 8 months ago and have no intention to have another watch anytime soon. However, since i have a trip to Berlin, my friend ask me to pick up a Royal Oak dual time in Rose Gold in Berlin for him. I was not aware that this kind of watch is so dangerous. Once it sat on my wrist, i dont want to take it out.

Im a young guy with bad attitudes. Once i like something, i can not get it out of my mind until i have it. This time it is a chrono RG RO.

Its very difficult to buy a wath in my country, thus when i have a change, i have to pull the trigger :D

I will learn from this time anyway. Thank you :D

I agree. It is usually a bad sign if seller can't be bothered to send high res pictures.

I had a related but different experience with Exclusive Chrono. I asked for higher res pictures from different angles and showing potential bracelet stretch. I did receive a few more pictures, but they were still low res and not close up enough and they did not show e.g. the bracelet stretch.

Nonetheless, after having spoken to Sven over the phone, I decided to take a leap of faith and asked him to reserve the watch for me if he could just send the original pictures I had inquired about. I would then pay once the pictures checked out fine. He confirmed.

The next day I had not heard from him and asked him about the pictures, so I could confirm the condition of the watch and transfer payment. He then just sent me a short message saying another customer had shown interest in the watch afterwards and had bought it.

Now I can understand that you want to sell to the first person with cash in hand. However, then you do not tell another person that the watch has been reserved for him. At the very least he should have given me a heads up.

Recommendable dealer? Not quite. Nice guy, but far from professional or ethical.
