if you handle a newer model and handle the older model you will be disappointed. but after wearing the "Cheap" bracelet for a while the light weight will make you appreciate it much more. for daily wear that is.

Be careful! There are a lot of Frankenwatches out there. Give us some photos and we can be of more help.

Indeed. Why would anyone polish the crown?

This comparison may seem odd, but bear with me for a moment. The discussion reminded me of the first time I rode a Harley with the old "rat trap" clutch. Compared to the clutches of the 1980s, it was weird, and grabby, and a little unpredictable. But after a few miles, it was fun! Every device has its eras, and some will point to one as a "golden age" of design for that item, but I no longer believe it. Each era has its charm and its adherents and its champions. While I don't like all Rolex bracelets on my skin, I've had many older ones that were delightful to wear. Remember, Hummers look big and tough, but they sink in serious mud.
