if you like it, and you felt confortable with it, go for it. i really dont think it's big on your wrist... but i have 6.75"wrists and use a jlc NS 46.3mm and also a pam 372 that is 47 mm , so i dont think my opinion is relevant hahaha..... but seriously, it looks always bigger oh photos.

Yacht-Master looks great, and it's an absolute stunner although I prefer the SS/Plat Yacht-Master.
The 16710 (I prefer Pepsi) is also an incredible option. |

I agree with this, I have a couple watches, that I think look fine on my wrist, but for some reason when I take a picture of them, I think the slightest angle makes it look like the lugs and hanging off the wrist. Maybe I'm just delusional, and they're actually too big for me, but I have a feeling the GMT pictured looks slightly smaller in person, and even in the pictures it doesn't look bad at all.

6" wrist here - as long as the older, more svelte sport models are available, I'll continue to buy them. BUT... that GMTII isn't too big for your wrist. Yes, it is prominent, but I can guarantee that nobody will think it looks awkward on you in real life. So if you like it, I say go for it. My largest watch is a 42mm Hamilton Pan Europ that looks prominent in a "modern" sort of way. It's the only watch I wear that consistently gets compliments, especially on the colorful NATO strap. Conversely, my 16570 just blends in with the background.

Look at the watch in relation to your entire arm or body. Use the mirror provided at the AD to do this -- take a step back and see the bigger picture. Good luck!

The GMTc looks fine on your wrist and will look even better when sized correctly.
I understood why you mentioned you were a pilot as it would explain why the GMT feature was a requirement. Enjoy wearing it.

Eddie has it. The smaller the wrist, the more important it is that the watch 'sits' properly for your comfort, and where the links are removed is important in achieving this.
The GMT IIC is a beautiful watch and worth the trouble to get just right.

I'm the first to be irked when I see too large a watch on a smaller wrist...and there have been some doozies posted on TRF over the years. The 116710 just barely fits, but I suspect it will look and feel better when the bracelet is sized. It may look large to you because of the bezel and oversized font, but if you were to buy it, I think it would look fine. Go for it. |

It is fine by today's standards, but if it is bugging you, why not go for the earlier 16710 model, or even - the thinking man's GMT - a 16570 Explorer II, black or white dial, which wears even smaller because of the sloping bezel. With this latter choice you still get your GMT hand, and you will save yourself a few thousand as well.
Sub C (=GMTIIC size) on wrist: 16570 Explorer II - and the old Sub (14060) - on same wrist: |

Few more pics with a better picture to see how it wears. I am seriously reconsidering, and thinking of pulling the trigger next week. I think the size is nothing I can't get used to; Also think it will wear much better once the bracelet is adjusted. Thanks for the responses everybody!! |

How about an Airking?
I wear the white arabic on my 7 1/4" wrist. It is stealthy, understated but still striking, yet interesting enough to go against the crowd-trend of "BIG". |

Honestly a little too small, even for me. I like a little presence. My sweet spot is 36-38 mm. Some thin 40mm work. This GMT 40 MM is the largest I would go; But I really think I will go for it. |

I think you're going to get it and be happy. Again, that watch will feel waaayyy more comfortable once its sized for you. Also, do the 4' and 10' body length mirror test. Look at all of you not just a watch on your wrist and six inches of forearm. That suggestion made a big difference for me and had something of an opposite effect- I realized that I could wear a 40mm and that it looked okay when I was convinced I needed a 44mm plus sized watch. Even seeing your forearm in that pic gives a little more perspective and makes it look all the more apropos on your wrist.

Looks fine to me. Once you size it properly, it will look and fit better because it will sit on your wrist flat.
Go for it! PS pictures also make the watch look bigger than in person. Pull the trigger and post a size wrist shot!! |
