Agreed.

In a perfect world, we'd all have one of each, right? There's no bad choice of these three, so this will be an interesting poll. I even think my answer might change from day to day!

i went black, but recently saw these in person and was shocked how much the silver spoke to me! I'm not a fan of the white though, i mean, i'd be happy to own it, but if I'm spending the money it's gotta be black or silver.

I know what you mean.

Black is what-you-see-is-what-you-get, but the silver face is starburst which is almost impossible to capture in pictures. I have to agree that the silver speaks much louder on the wrist than it does on the screen. The silver also mutes the big white markers so they don't yell out as loudly on the black, but then that's also what makes the black one so attractive!

I voted black before reading the post. It's always my favorite dial.

I love how Rolex does crisp white dials.

A white dial goes with everything, and adds a bit of elegance to a watch.

Rolex has so many black dial watches, I would go with white to help balance a collection.

Plus, I've found the white dials hide smudges on the sapphire more than a black dial does.

Blue is beautiful!

There's a lot of love for the blue stick dial and I love the way Rolex does blue (blue sub, blue dj2), but I like black, white or silver for an "everyday" watch. There are a lot of great options on the dj2. I don't typically care for diamonds on a watch, but I have to admit the rhodium and silver diamond-dial watches are pretty sweet.

Voted black, but Silver I like also very much.
(For DJ, white for me is a "no go".

True, also depends on other watches in your collection. I chose the black dial for my first Rolex. No wrong decision here, good luck with your purchase.

Black has now overtaken silver in the lead, but we're starting to see some love for the white dial!

Honestly, I can't say for sure. I've been mulling that question over for months now and still can't decide which one I like best. I voted white in the poll though.

Great responses TRF. Black is in the lead, but silver is a good second and white's getting some real love too. Let's reach for at least 100 responses since this simple choice probably affects almost every TRF member at one point or time!

I'm kind of surprised to see so much love for the silver. I think it's way too monochromatic on a SS watch.

I do think silver dials look fantastic on TT or YG/RG watches.

I had a silver Omega AT which I recently sold to help finance my future Rolex. There just wasn't enough contrast between the dial and hands for my liking.

I think TKerr hit the nail on the head. Black is more popular as a sporty version of the DJ. It's a DJ-meets-sub style that I believe a majority of TRF members will lean toward. The white stick markers also pop against the black dial and complement the white gold bezel.

On the other hand, the silver provides a more elegant style with a sunburst dial that pictures cannot do justice (kind of like a bluesy dial). As a result, you get a toned down, more monochromatic version, but a version with lots of pop on the dial and the white gold bezel.

Lastly, many TRF members start off with a black dialed sub, therefore many might choose a silver DJ as a secondary watch to complement their collection. Of course, we can always poll it, but I think this applies too.

Thoughts? Comments?

I had the white dial DJ2. Ended up selling it. Remember, this is already a big watch. If that bothers you the white could make it wear bigger. Black wears smaller in my opinion.

Love the sunburst dials, so silver it is for me...although I prefer the smooth bezel.

Black for me as it provides a nice contrast for the entire watch.
