Replacing 93150 Clasp on Submariner Date

I have a 1999 Submariner Date. My clasp has become intolerably loose and I am afraid of losing or drop damaging my watch. I purchased a "New Old Stock" clasp that appears perfectly suited to my needs with one problem.

My "old" clasp I was able to remove from the last link of the bracelet by removing (carefully, with an appropriately sized screwdriver) a screw-in crossbar, or pin.

When I went to attach the "new" clasp I discovered that it simply has a crossbar that does not appear to unscrew. I also delicately tried to see if it slid one way or the other with tweezers, but saw no indication of any motion.

Can anyone tell me how to get this attached to my band? I DO have access to jewelers, but I enjoy doing things myself. But if I have to swallow my pride, I'd rather do that than mess something up experimenting.

In the photos, the old clasp is on top, the new one on the bottom.

The clasp you purchased is for an older 9315 "folded link" bracelet and is not compatible with the more modern 93150 links.

It is no big deal for a jeweler to replace the worn rivet on the front of your existing clasp and you can adjust (bend) the "blades" for a more secure closing action.
