3 msec off beat = 3.9 deg offset in 18000 vph?

Just running this mental exercise.
Given a 18000 VPH, a 3 millisec off beat, 270 deg amplitude
18000 VPH = 5 beats per sec
5 beats x 270 = 1350 degrees per sec.
= 1.3 deg per millisec time 3 for 3 millisec error
= 3.9

does this make sense or/and am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for the input.
Ed

Just anticipating how much adjustment to do on a watch I cleaned and changed a balance wheel on. Balance staff (bottom pivot) a little bent.

Background info: Rolex 6569 cal 1030 (early 1960's) that Torneau declined working on.
Problem with the watch, the stem had come off, inside, the screws securing the counter weight was loose with the weight scoring the periphery of the main plate. 2 crown wheel screws were loose. The watch was dirty inside.

Sorry for digressing. Anyway, back to the offbeat, I guess the higher VPH watches with the same 3 millisec offbeat will have a greater angular error than a lower VPH watch and at a certain point be more prone to not starting as compared to a lower VPH watch.
Am I making sense?

Thanks for your response Vanessa.
p.s. enjoyed your you tube clip!

Beat reading is affected also other phenomena than roller off of the center line between balance wheel & escape wheel pivots.

More reading to do :)

You are absolutely correct. Your comment is much appreciated.
BTW thanks for your post on " Service of Rolex ref: 6532 cal 1030 " . That was one of 2 posts I found regarding 1030. I found yours more complete so I used it for the service.

Regards,
Ed
