Is TT White Trash?

I own a TT, by the way, but I really want to know what people think... Is it a poor man's attempt at owning a gold watch?

In lots of cases, yes. I bought the latest TT Sub but if I'm honest, I wanted the WG Sub but couldn't justify the cost. Flipped the TT three months later as it wasn't really me.

However, lots of people I know love the look of the TT and some prefer it to the all gold as gold can be too bling for some and too heavy for others.

Only you know if you bought it because it's a lot cheaper than the full gold.

What I would say, is that no 'poor man' I know owns a Rolex, and certainly not a TT!

I do think people use the bling excuse in place of truly being able to afford the gold models...

Sure they do in some cases, but not all. I found the TT too bling for me, so in hindsight I certainly couldn't carry off all-gold!

Also, some people have a cut off for what they are prepared to spend on a watch. My cut-off has historically been £10k, because up to that point I am happy to wear it almost anywhere and do almost anything with it. Once it goes above £10k I think I'd treat it differently. My collection at one point was worth about £30k, which is not a lot for this forum! But it showed I could have had a gold Rolex if I could have got over the psychological threshold I have!

And hey, if people can't afford a gold watch but can get themselves a TT Rolex, they shouldn't be worrying too much about things!! Don't be fooled by what others on here have, there are some very wealthy members on here and it can skew your own judgement of yourself sometimes if you're not careful.

This!

The whole "white trash" dialogue is ludicrous. I own a TT Sub and my watch (which is one of several and not close to my most expensive) is hands down and far and away the nicest watch amongst my social circle and really... Who cares anyway. I have an extremely wealthy friend (8 figures) and he is proud to say he has never spent more than $100 on a watch. Measuring a person's social status by the timepiece they wear is a slippery slope at best.
Crazy thread

Definitely one of the most comedic threads of the year. I'll leave it at that. But I'll remember to wear my DJ next time I want to feel trashy.

Interesting question. As a person with white lower working class roots i will offer my thoughts.

I believe in the back of my mind I always considered a TT as the watch you bought when you couldn't afford a precoius metal piece. Now older and the owner of the latter I have come to like the TT Daytona with the grey dial and am seriously considering one.

Is TT White Trash?

Some like the look of TT, some like the versatility, some like gold but can't justify the cost of a full gold... Some just want to be trashy... 👊

how could any rolex be white trashy? I mean even the cheaper new one with run you thousands of dollars, which cost more than most white trash folks cars, so no, TT is not white trashy, but you just might be!
