Yeah, I agree with this. But you can't really tell at this point...at least from their website.

As an owner of a DDII I was surprised at the launch of the DD 40. Great looking watch and the movement is something else. I believe the values of the DD II's will take a slight hit but with the ongoing price increases will level out over time. I will not buy the new 40 as I love my DDII.

I think there will be no increase in the collectability of my DDII. With only 1 mm less diameter, most will not notice the difference.

All I'll say is that my 41mm platinum with oversized proportions has more platinum material than the new 40mm!

I'm pretty sure the 41mm DDII will be discontinued and be out of production for the new movement and 40mm casing and dial options.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0V2hzjTtSM A video of the new size. Looks great to me!

After owning a DJII for couple years, as much I love the watch, I wished it was smaller at 40mm because it is honestly slightly out of proportion.

Definitely surprised by rolex for adjusting the size. Now I wonder if next year we'll see the DJII 40.

Curious if the retail price went down accordingly (my guess is NOPE!)

Ok so I read on hodinkee and one other watch review website about the DD40 REPLACING the DDII. Thought I'd share. Here's a picture

My mistake I got my watches mixed up. I just confused the DDII with the DJII. LOL.

The new movement is very impressive. Still curious why Rolex decided to go from 41 to 40mm. We will never know.
