New Datejust : Now What to do?

Just picked up this beauty and love it! It isn't visible in this pic, but it also has the "roulette" date wheel so the odd-numbered dates are in red.

Now trying to decide if I should flip something to cover the cost. Options on the table are a TT 36mm Datejust with an oyster bracelet and a silver dial with stick markers, a SS SubC, and an Explorer I 39 mm.

What to do?

Flip the oyster bracelet TT DJ, they belong on jubilee with fluted bezels. Then you'll be left with 3 distinct Rolex models - and that makes you a most fortunate man indeed !

Thanks! That is the option I have most considered.

It is a nice watch, but the hand/dial combo isn't the easier for middle-aged eyes to read either.

I agree but take it for what it's worth as I'm not a fan of TT.

For me, 1 DJ would suffice. Sounds like you like the present one more, so if the love's not there on the TT, I would flip that one.

I had originally seen them as different enough to keep both. Now, I'm not feeling that either.

One Datejust makes sense as my principal work watch. Two is perhaps pushing it.

I don't know why, but in general I have gravitated away from the TT models despite initially being infatuated with them.

The Explorer is the other I had considered.

The SubC is almost certainly safe.

A difficult decision, but dropping the TT DJ will leave you with three stainless steel watches all with a black dial.

Nice choice

I would let the TT go... the sub is iconic and the explorer is simply classic rolex with a great looking dial.

BTW I have to ask how did you like the PCL on your new DJ?

I like the TT date just. Its def different than the others in the stable. I'd keep that and get rid of Explorer.

Thanks. I actually like the PCL ok on the DJ, but tend to favor BCL on most watches. That's one of the main things that pulled me to a Sub over a GMT for example.

I love the TT DJ's and have a decent collection of them .. I think the TT you have is a beauty .. The only oyster bracelet TT I have has a smooth bezel .. I have had my eyes open for a TT with a oyster bracelet and fluted bezel .. I think it's a great looking watch that fits my personality just perfectly

That tt dj is a real beauty. I would keep that one and flip the Exp.I.
That would then be a varied collection.
