its my first time buying - its from a second hand shop that has many chain stores. I've read a lot of reviews from previous buyers and they have all vouched that its a store that sells authentic. but always best to get a second opinion from the experts here.

thank you very much everyone!

i'm also happy to say that it has the original guarantee, box, and also a service paper from last June!!

Welcome to TRF, watch looks okay to me. Keep in mind that in all likelihood you'll need to spring for a service. Just a thought when you're considering the price.

Hi Cop - the rolex was serviced last June 2014 - do you think I should still put it in for another service?

To buy the watch is about 4520 USD - do you think its a fair value or a good deal?

sorry if i break any rules on valuations, just a good deal or not would be great :) not asking for a specific price.

Price is good for an S serial, if the service papers are from RSC, and the warranty paper is dated/stamped, box is correct (preferably with booklets, tags, anchor, etc), and bracelet is full and not stretched. Service shouldn't be required for a few years more.

Thanks everyone, really gives me a sense of assurance. I am going to pick it up this week then! will show you the pictures later! =D

How do you authenticate that the official service paper is from RSC? When I checked out the receipt, it was just a plain white piece of paper with rolex logo at top (very simple) with the following comments:

1. Complete Overhaul
2. Bracelet Cleaning

it cost 2400 HKD.

Sounds about right. Here's a pic of a real one for a Sub like yours. The price went up between March and June last year, hence the discrepancy. I have blurred some numbers deliberately. That should give you a two year international movement warranty from the date of issue.

Looks crummy but Rolex HK use cheap paper. You should see their business cards!

They also charge less than half what USA, UK, Australia and most other countries do, so it's all good
