I knew it would be scrutinized here enough to find the truth about this piece. Also wanted to give The Sarasota Watch Company the benefit of the doubt on the watch. For the $10,500 they want for it though, they can keep it. Thanks for all the experienced knowledge everyone!

I can feel the irritation, it's a real watch with a very ugly custom dial like the seller said. Bezel as other said, looks like aftermarket too.

Definately! I had a 16013 Datejust some time ago which had a sapphire crystal/bezel modification, picked it up for £1250...this was before I was fully educated Luckily it was priced to sell. I managed to source a genuine bezel and the correct acrylic plexiglass for about £300 (after a lot of searching) and then had the watch restored...I wouldn't do this now but it can be a money maker if, as you say, the price is right |

I agree! I see so many watches with these awful aftermarket modifications. In the case of this Oysterquartz, it is way overpriced in light of these mods. Shame, because if it could be restored to all-original it would be doing this watch a big favour, especially as this model is no longer in production and therefore quite collectible.

Thanks for all your knowledge, and helping me determine the authenticity of this watch! I'm glad The Sarasota Watch Company is on the up and up, price should be adjusted accordingly for the aftermarket mods and condition though. I was thinking in this condition it should sell for around $8-9k, would I be safe in my assumptions? |

I know what they're asking for it, just seemed high for what it is. Is this the price you think it should sell for as well?
