Hi from Texas!
I am fairly new to the site. It has a ton of great info. Bought my first Rolex from mowing yards at 17. Still have the watch, box and paper! SS Datejust $954 brand new in 1983.
Hooked ever since! SteveTex |

Steve
Welcome to the forum, I too bought my first Rolex in the 1980's. In 1989 my SS DateJust was only $1,500 new in the box. I like the changes Rolex has made to the DateJust since the 1980's. The DJ is a stronger better watch now IMHO

Welcome to TRF, Steve.
What an achievement to have got a brand new Rolex at 17 - amazing and it's great that you've still got it, too. I'm sure that we' all love to see some pictures of it soon.

Good for you to have had the gumption at 17 of age to go for your first Rolex. Most teenagers are wondering what movie to go to.

Welcome to TRF. You'll be adding to your collection in no time after being here for a short while. All of a sudden you'll get an urge to have another watch and it will appear. Whoops; how did that happen?
It's all good. Enjoy your stay. Terry Newton

Welcome Steve, you really have had a long relationship with Rolex. I am about 10 years behind you in finding the brand.
