15300 dials

Hi guys and gals, I read more than once here that AP can change the dial on watches for you for a certain price, they also keep the old dial.

Can someone confirm this 100% to me?

Does anyone know what is the price you need to pay?

I found a 99% new 15300 from 2011 but in black dial, of course I would really like the blue dial, depends on the price and possibility of changing it.

Thanks for your replies

Not so sure if AP does that 'officially', at least in Europe.

They would probably do black / white but not blue as those are boutique only (I asked).

Anyways I guess I need to ask AP, I am ok to get it if I can change it to blue dial but if it's black or white but not blue no thanks

You should be able to. Just call them about the cost.

Yes I called Clearwater and they said they would switch dials ( I asked about blue and yes they will) they would not quote me a price over the phone and said I would have to send watch in for quote

That'd kind of ridiculous. You are almost being held hostage at that point.

I'd feel obligated to make the switch after the effort of shipping it.

Interesting ... I have been told the opposite but I asked about the 15400 and it was a while ago.

I wonder if the cost of switching dials would be under $2,000, or even under $1,500.

If one can change the dial, especially from black/white, to blue, what's the point of the boutique version ? Why pay the premium on a blue boutique when you can just swap it out?? More importantly, why would AP do that?? Why stop there, what about all the ROO?s?? Since when did AP become rolex?? I find it hard pressed to believe it until someone sends it in and posts a picture and a copy of the service rendered .... I traded my white for a black, had I known I could just send it in and have the dials swapped, I would have done that...

Boutique blue was for the 15400 not 15300.

No don't actually own a 15300 but as the white and black dials are a little easier to find than blue I thought I would find out as it's probably my next watch.

And yes the blue 15400 is boutique and the blue 15300 was not... Also haven't some people been swapping date wheels on their roo's

I will see when I am ready to get the 15300 and call AP in France to get to know if it's possible or not, if the black dial plus money to change dials is more than getting directly the blue dial in that case I will advise...

I've heard that the blue dial on the 15400 is no longer boutique and can be ordered from any authorized AP dealer. How true the above is, i don't know since i haven't tried.

FWIW DavidSW had a blue 15300, watch only, listed as of a couple of days ago.

I was at an AD on the 9th of this month, and the salesman said it was boutique only. He was very knowledgeable too.

Well when a salesman tells me something it goes thru one ear and straight out thru the other without going in the brain section, 99% of the time what they say is crap...

Do a search in the FS section here, I saw the blue 15300 on here, but not on his site.

I'd normally agree, but it sounds like others on here have heard the same.

I could definitely see some money to made here if one could buy non-blue dial 15300 at a discount and doing the switch and then selling at a premium.

Even without knowing the specific cost, I'd doubt it.
