AP RO vs PP 5167
What do you say?
On the hunt for my next, and considering one of the two. The prices aren't too far off. Seen pre owned 5167 on rubber strap go for $15,500, and an AP will run slightly less. Decisions Decisions. |

Both are great watches... depends on what you want it for. If its needs to be more on the sporty/comfort side of the spectrum, then I'd go with the PP. If you want to use it for a little more business, then the AP (which dresses up better IMHO). The AP has the provenance of being the first sports luxury watch designed by Gerald Genta, so it has that going for it too.

I've owned both and I feel the 15202 is much better.

If blue dial the RO for sure, otherwise it's really just what feels better on you, not much in it.

Just got a jumbo after briefly owning a 5167. Love the jumbo, liked the aquanaut.

Depends. 5167 over 15400. 15202/15300 over 5167.

Own both 15400 and 5167, would keep the PP if I could only have one.
As someone mentioned, a 15300 would be harder decision, owned it in the past and it really is the best RO, similar proportions to the 15202 without the steep price. If you can find them for the same price, I can only say that is one cheap 5167 and one expensive 15300 (even the blue dial version pictured)...

In this case I would choose the 5167 just beacause I REALLY love it, on the other hand I would choose the AP RO Jumbo over the Patek 5711...

I do own a 15300 for around 5 years and i have to say it is the best watch in my 6 watch collection thus far. So 15300 in any dial except black.

I'd choose the AP because we're at the AP Forum here.
But seriously, I think that AP is more attractive and plus, the bracelet will better enable you to "dress up" with it...if that's of any interest. Sam |

Makes two of us and I go with the comments, the dial on the PP is awesome the rotor noise annoys me and the AP is at least 1mm too big for me, but I really like both but the PP will hold its value better for longer (even in these pictures it is just that little more special, both my crappy photography in same place). if I am ever selling the AP goes first even with that lovely bracelet. Splitting hairs they are both awesome watches, I feel fortunate to have both.......
