Why would anyone spend so much money on a watch and not wear it??

Point #1- That's completely relative to the owner. My wife's associate just dropped 130 large on a new PP. Im pretty sure THAT guy could consider a new SubC a "beater" and get away with it!

Point #2- I kinda like the term "rollie". My wife and I use it frequently amongst eachother.

Point #3- Fully concur!

Different strokes...There are members here who can do the same every day of the week and not refer to an $8k watch as a beater. Rollies are cigarettes that you roll yourself

You can not please everyone. Same applies to you doc-patient relationships. Some patients will look at you blnr as a sign of successful career trusting your medical judgement (diagnosis) others will envy what you have achieved...

I knew it was only a matter of time till someone HAD to comment on the OPs use of the naughty nickname...

To the OP. Wear what you are comfortable with and try not to worry about the possible jealousy of others. I can tell you that very few enlisted men wear a Rolex, but I do with pride. I worked hard for it and so did you.
exactly

I'll bet he knows the difference between a daily wear and one with the over used "beater" term as well.

I have no comment on point 2

I understand that you might feel a bit self conscious about wearing a nice watch in a clinic, so save the BLNR for more comfortable settings.

As for the Sub, that is an excellent daily wearer (hardly a 'beater') and you'll get the date thing sorted out easily enough. I have the non ceramic version, if I can remember the date, anyone can! Now, strap it on and go!

You could put the BLNR on a NATO style strap. It's pretty easy, I do it with my Sub all the time. I just bought a tool off of amazon.
The strap efinitely takes down the 'Bling' factor.
Don't buy a 'beater' watch. Wear what you got.
