I've seen several members say this now. Why do people fear that FPJ will disappear?

for me at least, it's nothing specific about FPJ, just the type of watch company like FPJ. getting personal, i don't have unlimited watch funds and the acquisition of such watch would be the grail of my collection, so, i would want to be certain (as possible) that thirty or fifty years from now, it could easily and readily be serviced. on the other hand, if it's not a lifetime/heirloom piece for someone, then, no worries at all. |

All high end brands have the model that they should be the only ones to service their watches, I think a not bad part of their revenues is from servicing the watches... I like a lot FPJ, even was thinking maybe adding a C bleu one day, I took it out of the possibilities when I knew the service charges, it's not the problem of the sum itself, but the problem that you give about 15% of the watch's retail price at every service, ok with Rolex it may be the same thing if you service a non date sub, as I understand it would also be about 15% of retail if you polish it, but paying 15% of a 6K piece is one thing, 15% of a 20K piece is another |
