New Deep Sea demand
..I stopped in at The Diamond Cellar in Columbus Sat to check out their "watch sale" This is a large, upscale Rolex AD handling most top swiss brands..Rolex, of course was not included in the "sale" {too hard to get} but they did offer some reduction {just the usual} on a few other marques..I was amazed to see about half of their staff wearing 44MM Panerais..Nice watch but a bit too trendy looking for my taste..I got into a conversation with a personable and well informed sales rep who told me that they had eight of the new Seadweller Deepseas on order and that all were spoken for and five prepaid...Good Lord are we about to go the Daytona, Milgauss route on this one too? Looking forward to seeing one. Maybe I can erase the scribbling.

It looks like it from the sound of things. I think once we get Mike's pic's up here it might even get worse.

The Deep Sea is already in high demand and it has not been released yet

Hey eb641 are you talking about Columbus, OH? If so I will be going back to old Columbus town for a wedding the last weekend in May. Did they have and Pam 0090 (44mm Power Reserve)? I would love to take a look at one while I'm down there.

Kind of heart-warming, really. Unless you want a DSSD or Milgauss GV..

I want one of these. I am 110% satisfied with SD and it has done superb job. I wear this when I jump from high altitude, diving underwater, jungles, and all. I think new SDDS will be better. I cant wait, but not sure which AD I should get it from.

well the Milgauss phenom has come back down to earth unless we're talking a GV, the Daytona has been hard to get for decades, and the SDDS is really specialized. I don't see a dive watch becoming another Daytona? But what do I know

Hey there, where are you in Columbus? I am in the Short North. Maybe we should have a local Rolex meetup. I was in the diamond celler last week too, and was looking at both the Panerai and the Deep Sea. They called me today and told me that they will only get 3 Deep Sea watches a year and 5 are pre paid. They are looking for a Luminor Marina for me right now. Matt... |

My local AD has a dozen names and has currently closed the order list, he said they'd get a couple a year so 5-6 years wait... bla bla... suggested i call back in 18 months to see if any drops outs !!!
Typical AD response IMO

All the TDY/HALO/SCUBA/Jump/Haz duty/Combat pay has to go somewhere. It bought me my first SD and probably "Let'sgodiving" Mike his. I'm looking forward to the DSSD and haven't been diving since the '80's.
