Daytona Hype

Still I hear and read the Daytona is over priced and over rated 😄
Not worth the premium ? What premium it is what it is and in my book it's worth every penny/dime. I find the more I wear it the more I appreciate it

It's certainly not overpriced for what you get. Whether you like it or not is seperate issue as being discussed extensively in another thread at the moment.

There has been some excessive hype surrounding the Daytona though like the obsequious drooling drivel posted in a well known blog. Claims of 5 year waiting lists and the near impossibility of obtaining one! I think that every AD I have been to in the last few years has them off the shelf as do most of the larger second hand dealers.

It's my favorite watch by far and has nothing to do with hype has all to do with my personal preference and the truth

Great watch and pic!

Not that hard to get at full price. The ADs that have clout with Rolex have it, or can get it.
The 4130 movement is special and particular to Daytona, yes?

Beautiful Daytona. I won't mind to own another Daytona. Currently I already own the white dial.

i've had a TT Zenith model for many years and recently got a SS Black face 116520. Still love the Daytona and can't wait to get my next one.

Certainly not overpriced IMO. I'm waiting for a SS ceramic. I'm not holding my breath though

What a great watch...my only knock on the Daytona is the limit of two dials for the SS model and holding out the really cool dials for the PM models.

Nothing but love from me as well.

I just got a drool worthy grail type watch. Also a chrono. And a higher price point for SS.

But tell you what; it changes nothing about my love for the Daytona.

I think the hype is very well deserved. It's a watch that inspires excessive passion for some.
