For as long as I can remember, the SD always had a higher MSRP than the SS Sub/Date. Now that the SD has a new pred, should we soon see the SD costing more, or will it always be lacking behind the SS Sub on re-sale. And can anyone anticipate how high the SD will rise in pricing in the next 5 or so years. What are your guys hypothesis?

Remember, you know your important when the meeting doesn't start until YOU arrive.

Less production and discontinuation of the SD should make the price shadow the Sub in the next 2 years.

IMO the SD is a lot harder to buy 2nd hand anyway, if ebay is anything to go by.
So maybe they will fetch more.

This comes back to supply and demand once again so it all depends on the tastes and desires in the future.

If we consider history, the vintage SD is worth more than a vintage Sub. Roughly speaking, an early 1665 SD is close to double the price of a 1680 Sub date of the same condition and age.

Or at least, that's my experience.

I personally think the SD will be worth more in the long-term but it's a personal gamble.

Among the gray dealers and ebay sellers, the SD usually is priced lower than the SS Sub date, prob. due to lower demands. At least this was the case before the price hike and recent rumors of the SD discontinuation.

Exactly, beacuse there are loads more subs around than SD'd, probably not on here but in circulation with the general public.... why because most buyers go in and look at the sub and the SD (this is if they actually even have it one in stock) and compare the watches and don't see why they should pay the extra cash for a very similar watch so then go on and buy the sub

Eg. 1999 (9/10 Condition) Serviced ....Box....No papers.......

now u can easier sell a used Z series SD at 6,000, but you can never sell a used Sub-date at this price
