Jedly1, a true gentleman of our hobby

A few weeks ago I had posted about what recommendations could be made about using RSC in Sydney to service my '67 5513.
A PM was sent to my inbox by a complete stranger, advising me that Sydney RSC are ' by the book ' and sending a VR there would be a grave mistake.
In discussions about options he asked I send the watch to him and he would handle everything with his local RSC in Melbourne.
Of course I had no reservations of sending my watch to Jed given his reputation but knowing the calibre of watch he usually handles, I was quite surprised he offered to help out with my mediocre sub.
Even more surprising is he wanted nothing in return even though it cost him time to and from RSC and also shipping the watch back ( wouldn't even accept a gift of appreciation).
A great many thanks Andy.

Great story. I think he is a true watch lover and clearly a true gentleman. There is something special about Australia. (Apologies to others for parochialism)

For a rather small population, we have a great watch collector community that is world renown.

this community is amazing...there are many among us that share their vast knowledge regularly. I have received several similar PM's from a few other long time members that have been invaluable in assisting me with my collection.

THANKS!!!!

Jedly1, a true gentleman of our hobby

By George! Good on you m8s 👍🏻

Yup, Jed is an affable English who lost his bearings from Anglo Saxon plains all the way to to Down Under ;-)

But I've gained as a friend in this crazy VR world.

Not to hijack your thread, not long ago I was looking for an used 1665 bezel to match my DRSD & he took great interests of my request despite the small economic value of it.... Or try to help me to find a common part in his knick knack storage if i was too late in his periodic junk sales....

Stand up guy in my books & a well deserved compliment post here George. Well done guys
