This was a good watch. While FIFA is an appalling, corrupt country club calling itself a non-profit organization, hundreds of millions of people are still excited about the World Cup every 4 years. What gives?

It is a sad commentary of the human condition, though.

FIFA is a horribly, horribly mismanaged and corrupt organization.
To give Americans an idea of the popularity of football (yes, the correct name). A super bowl event is viewed by 120M people. A decent soccer game between, e.g. Chelsea and Manchester City; or El Classico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, is viewed by over 600M people. World cup football is watched by over 1B people. |
