Newbie needs info on Tudor 9411 0
Hi all. I have been lurking for a while and finally decided to join/post and yeah I need some help/info
. Just got this one yesterday. Its in fabulous condition and the patina on the markers is great (you can't see how great because my camera sucks). Here's my question. I keep reading the 9411 is to have a 25 jewel movement. Mine is only 17. The case is clearly marked w/ sn 921xxx and on the other end 94110. I saw a picture of another 9411 for sale from a dealer and it has the same movement - 17 jewels. I also saw a 3d 9411 w/the same movement on e-bay. I was told by the seller he bought this from a jeweler in the south Florida area over 30 years ago. He swears its all original. The band is 93150 with end links marked 558. One collector told me that European 9411's have the 25 jewel movement and the 9411's sold originally in the U.S. have the same movement marked 17 jewels to avoid the 1970's U.S. customs tax on luxury watches which was supposedly defined as a watch w/ 25 or more jewels. Anyone know any more about this? Am I ok here? Can someone explain? Thanks Marc H. www.thecoinopcollector.com ---------------------------------------- GMT Master IIC, Sub 6538, Tudor 9411 |

9411 movement close ups
These are the best close ups I have. I have seen 2 other 9411's w/ this movement marked 17 jewels. I have also seen a 9411 with what appears to be the exact same movement, only marked 25 jewels.
Thanks Marc |

Welcome to the forums Marc! Glad to have you aboard.
You have a beautiful looking Tudor Sub 9411! It looks clean and all original too. Below is a link that talks about Tudor Submariners. It is a little long but I hope you find some answers to your questions somewhere along the page. My apologies if I am being a little too vague but I hope it helps. Tudor Submariner Forum - CLICK!
