My first Rolex - Too big ?
Hey guys
I'm about to get my first Rolex. I wrote a thread a while ago if I should choose between Date or DateJust 36mm. You convinced me to go for the DJ. Today I went to the AD again, just to make sure that the DJ 36mm was the right choise. I really really like the Submariner, but I'v always thaught that it was too big for me, but I just had to try it today. What do you guys think? Does the Sub looks too big for me (my wrist) ? I DONT want an oversized watch - It has to look good at me... Hope you guys can help me to make the right decision. Thank you. // Sugarray |

The Sub is borderline. You could pull it off, but I do think the DJ looks better on you.

I think the DJ looks better on you. I must admit to having owned a 114060 and flipping it because it didn't feel right on my small wrist. Congratulations on which ever you choose!!!

They both look good to me, but go with what feels right for you and don't take too much notice of 'internet opinions'. You only have to please yourself.

Sub is definitely close to being too big. I'd pick the one that feels most comfortable to you.

For a split second, I thought that was a DeepSea Seadweller on your wrist.
Go with the DJ, it fits better The new SubC does look alot more bulky than the old Sub with thinner lugs. |

DJ looks better IMO... but my opinion or anyone else's shouldn't influence on what watch FEELS better to you or what watch you love wearing more. Go with your gut, get what you'll enjoy and wear it with health.

I would say sub is borderline, but definitely not oversized.
Pictures also exaggerate it. I went back and forth like 10 times on size before pulling the trigger on my BLNR, but when I bought it and had it sized, it really felt and looked amazing. I love the size and I have puny wrists at 6.25" only. What I am trying to say is buy whatever sings to you the loudest, as both sizes work. What is your wrist size btw? Good luck to you! Edit. The BLNR does wear slightly smaller. Really suggest you try it! I also was interested in the Sub initially; Until I tried the BLNR in the flesh. ;) |

Pick the one you like the best...don't worry about the size (or what we think).

DJ looks better. If you want a sport watch, you might try a SD4000, because, although it sits taller, it is a little less bulky around the outside. Of course, there are also the 5 digit series sport watches, which aren't as bulky, if you don't mind going used.

Go with a sub 14060...the older style....will suit your wrist much better. Otherwise the DJ wins

I'm inclined to agree with Tom's comment here, think the bracelet hanging as it is in your shots may skew how it appears. They're both great watches but I think the Sub would be a better buy than the DJ in the long run. Good luck.
