Rolex Hospital. Its a sad day
Having only worn my recently purchased vintage DJ for under a week, i had to send it back to where i bought it from for some repairs, im so pissed off. To make it worse everyone at work who didnt spot it when i first got it, now spots it straight away that i am not wearing it. Their smug little faces light up when i tell them its having some work done to it.
Does anyone care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :r ant: |

Work done?
Tell them your modifying it with the new titanium turbo balance spring and.. that it will now be accurate to 1/10 of 1 second per month. Mrdi Funny how so many are kind enough not to spot it until it's gone. |

Be glad it's not the middle of summer and people would notice your Rolex Tan Line.

That sucks, but you will have it back soon. As for the people at work I would not worry about then.

It never ceases to amaze me how folks like to 'pile on' the Rolex owner. Most consider us ill-motivated status seekers or egomaniacs to buy a Rolex when a $20 Casio works just fine. I've had a few rationalize it as buying jewelry, not a watch. At least they accept it on that basis, if not a skewed one. Typical response for them to revel in the fact there's something wrong with your watch. Your best response is to just ignore them. If you manage to convince them otherwise, there's always more where that came from.
Good thing you sent it in for a service. A frozen crown doesn't sound very good. You did unscrew it first, right? (Sorry, I had to ask) Regardless, soon you'll have your like new Rolex back and you can commence with the enjoying. By in large, Rolexes are pretty robust and reliable. Congrats on your new purchase and don't let the nay-sayers get your goat.
