Hmm, maybee a poor choice of title,..carefull guys and gals!

What is wrong with me though?

I had a sub no date for years, and since noticing my friends sub date wanted the date function, then noticing his crown, i wanted a bigger crown, hence GMT IIc, now i cant settle with this, im frustraited with the duality i feel for the GMT IIc and the GMT II, and now im thinking of flipping a brand new watch for a Root Beer, for its class and rarety,

Is this normal, why cant i settle, and why cant rolex just help me out by making a GMT II with a bigger crown!

Is there no end to the torment? Will i get the Root Beer and then flip for something elce?

Heck, if you are a truck driver, you might need to flip your watch just to pay for your fuel. Good luck out there.

Sometimes you have to have more than one.
What about the LV Sub, it has the maxi dial, big crown, brushed bracelet, and if you want you can change out the green bezel for a black one. Just a thought

Tiz a thought Steve, any photos? Sounds like an option.

You know, i think i need to head into my AD..... again, Trouble is, i get on really well with them, but they have a limited range in the store. some GMT's TT SS and a few subs, a daytona rose gold, and some others cellini and TOG's etc, but nothing really to get my teeth into , and there always very busy, i feel guilty at stealing their time when i may not make any purchase at the end of the day!

Here's a photo with the original green bezel insert.
However, there are photos around with the black insert.
It is a mix of the old and the new. New maxi dial, old smaller lugs case, solid end links, thick link but older style bracelet.
A very comfortable watch to wear.

When you say you can get bezel inseerts for this watch, are they the same as for the GMT? It is a stunning watch, but i am not keen on the green, is this the 50th aniversary special they brought out? I remember my AD mentioning this watch, but he had none in.

Steve, the LV came out in 03 to commemorate "50 years of the Submariner". Many wrongly assumed it was a limited production model. Rolex has consistently maintained it as a regular production watch--though in far fewer numbers than it's black counterpart.

I'm a big fan as the maxi-dial brings the reference back closer to it's roots as watch easier to read in less than ideal conditions.

Yes, the black insert can be fitted to the watch. Green is the Rolex corporate color and one we've seen more of in recent years. Some like the green insert-some don't. It's simply a personal choice.

The Maxi-dial is in my view one of the best things Rolex has done in a long time.

No worries I know how you feel, I flipped 2 watches already just to purchase new ones. But I usually try to flip other brands for a new Rolex. Why not try and keep the Sub and save up slowly for what you want

After erecting your I's (

) there are a few things I want to say. Do you really need a watch to know what date it is? I mention this because the new COSC non-date Sub is so close to the perfect Rolex sports watch that the friction is starting a fire

The size of the crown is of no consequence unless you are into big crowns

I do agree about the root beer however because this is an icon
